
Teen Boy Dies in Mother’s Day Drowning At Southern Minnesota Swimming Beach
Sanborn, MN (KROC-AM News)- A teenage boy lost his life in a drowning at a southern Minnesota swimming beach over the weekend.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched to the report of a possible drowning at the swimming beach at Mound Creek County Park, which is about 65 miles west of Mankato, around 3:30 p.m.
First responders were advised that a 15-year-old had been swimming in Mound Creek when he began struggling, went under the water and never resurfaced, the news release says.

The emergency responders entered the water and recovered the Mountain Lake boy’s body. Life saving measures were conducted on the teen at the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Several people witnessed the drowning, authorities say. The boy’s name will be released upon completion of an autopsy by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
