Southeast Minnesota Forecast Calls for Extreme Heat & Severe Storms Monday
It is going to be nasty hot today so make sure to stay hydrated and limit your time outdoors. The National Weather Service says, "Afternoon and evening heat indices of 95 to 105 are expected for most of the region. A Heat Advisory is in effect from Noon to 9 PM for areas along and south of Interstate 94."
Severe storms will hit the area this evening with the main threat being damaging winds and large hail. According to the NWS, "Several rounds of storms will possible mainly along and north of Interstate 90 between 7 PM tonight and 7 AM Tuesday. Some of these storms may become severe. Large hail (some may exceed 2” in diameter) and damaging winds will be the main threats."
Flooding could occur and there is a slight chance for a tornado.
