Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A St. Paul man has been given a stayed prison sentence for his conviction on a felony charge of soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct.

The crime occurred at Silver Lake Park in Rochester in September 2021. 33-year-old Danio Dorres was also ordered to serve a sentence of 60 days in jail and was placed on probation for five years. The judge in the case also ordered that Dorres can be released from jail early if a bed in a treatment facility becomes available.

It was almost a year ago that Dorres entered a Norgaard plea in the case. That means he has no memory of his actions but acknowledges there is enough evidence to convict him. It is most often used in cases involving impairment from alcohol or drug use.

Dorres was accused of making lewd comments to an 11-year-old girl while she was walking through Silver Lake Park near the 7th Street Northeast Bridge. The criminal complaint alleged that Dorres was sitting on a bench and called her over to him before he grabbed her hand and had her sit next to him. He was accused of making a crude sexual comment and rubbing one of the child's legs.
