Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the City of Rochester snowplow operator who was involved in a fatal incident this morning.

39-year-old Jordan Dohrmann of Rochester was actively plowing snow in the 2800 block of Pinewood Road Southeast around 9 AM when he struck a pedestrian while backing up the snowplow. The victim, a 69-year-old Rochester woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

City officials have said Dohrmann has been placed on standard paid administrative leave while the incident is investigated. Rochester Public Schools Superintendent Kent Pekel says the aftermath of the tragedy was witnessed by some students and staff at a nearby Pinewood Elementary School. He says counselors and other members of the school district crisis team were sent to the school shortly after the incident to provide assistance.

The State Patrol crash reconstruction team was called to the site to investigate the woman's death.
