
State Patrol Investigates Fatal Crash in Red Wing
Update: State Patrol ID's 71-Year-Old Victim of Fatal Red Wing Crash
Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol responded to a deadly traffic crash this afternoon in Red Wing.
Fatal Crash Happened Near Juvenile Correctional Facility
A preliminary report indicates the driver of an SUV was attempting to turn onto northbound Highway 61 when the vehicle went into the median and crashed through a guardrail before rolling onto its side. The fatal crash was reported around 2:20 p.m. at an intersection near the Minnesota Juvenile Correctional Facility on the southern edge of Red Wing.

71 Year Old Red Wing Man Killed
The driver was the only occupant of the SUV. The State Patrol has not released his name but identified him as a 71-year-old Red Wing man.

The State Patrol report says the road surface was wet at the time of the crash.
