State Patrol IDs Houston County Crash Victim
Houston, MN (KROC-AM News) - A traffic crash yesterday involving some farm equipment in Houston County has claimed the life of a Caledonia man.
The State Patrol says 39-year-old Jaysen Vaughn was driving a small SUV and crashed into the back of a van pulling two gravity wagons. The deadly crash occurred around 3:30 pm on Highway 76 about a mile north of Houston. The State Patrol report notes the victim was not wearing a seatbelt.
The other driver, 56-year-old Richard Torgeson of Houston, was not hurt.
It was the seventh traffic fatality to be reported by the Minnesota State Patrol since last Saturday. The grim death toll includes two people killed in separate incidents Tuesday evening. A 75-year-old woman from Winsted was killed when a 16-year-old girl drove through a stop sign and crashed into the victim’s minivan at a rural intersection in Meeker County. The other fatality on Tuesday was a car-pedestrian collision in a small northwestern Minnesota town that took the life of a 24-year-old woman.
