State Patrol ID’s Victims of Fatal Southeast Minnesota Crash
Update: Passenger Hurt in Fatal SE Minnesota Crash Dies from Her Injuries
Pine Island, MN (KROC-AM News)- A man from southeast Minnesota has been identified as the victim of a deadly crash that occurred in Goodhue County.
The fatal crash occurred around 4:30 p.m Friday. A woman riding in the vehicle also suffered severe injuries in the crash.
The State Patrol has identified the driver as 85-year-old Roger Iverson of Red Wing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
78-year-old Carol Anne Iverson of Red Wing was identified as the passenger. She was taken from the crash scene to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester and is listed in critical condition as of Monday morning.
The state crash report indicates Roger was driving an SUV north on Hwy. 52 when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled at the exit with Goodhue County Rd. 11 on the southern edge of Pine Island.
Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the fatality, the report says. Hwy. 52 was dry during the crash.
The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Zumbrota Police Department, Zumbrota Ambulance and Pine Island Fire Department also responded to the fatal wreck.
