The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says two motorcycle fatal crashes over the weekend, including one that occurred Sunday evening in Rochester, pushed the state’s traffic-related death toll for 2014 above 200.

Officials note the death toll, which now stands at 204, is 16 below the total that was reported in mid-August last year.

The State Patrol says the victim of the motorcycle crash in Rochester was 58-year-old Laurie Snyder. Officials say the Rochester woman was driving south on Highway 52 when she lost consciousness and crashed near the 55th street bridge.

She later died at St. Mary's Hospital.
