Statewide Alert For Minnesota Man Who Skipped His Murder Trial

Windom, MN (KROC-AM News) - A statewide alert has been issued by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for a man who failed to appear in court this morning for his murder trial.
58-year-old Ralph Leslie Apmann is on trial for second-degree murder in Cottonwood County, where he is accused of choking a man to death at a bar in Windom in August 2021. The court proceedings against Apmann started last week. It’s the first murder trial to be held in Cottonwood County at least 25 years.
The BCA alert says Apmann is believed to be armed with an AR-15 rifle and a 9 mm handgun. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911. Officials also warned that he should not be approached. Investigators suspect he may be in the Twin Cities area.
