St Paul (KROC AM News) - Flu activity continues to increase in Minnesota and things could get worse with the holiday season moving into high gear.

The weekly report from the Minnesota Health Dept. shows the level of activity has risen to “regional” for the first time during the current influenza season. It had been rated “local” the past two weeks.

The report shows there was an increase in the number of hospitalizations involving flu cases, rising to 73 last week. There were 5 school outbreaks last week, four more than the previous week.

Health officials continue to urge Minnesotans to get a flu shot if they haven’t already.
