Stolen Vehicle Prompts Large Downtown Rochester Police Presence
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- There was a large law enforcement presence in downtown Rochester Wednesday morning.
The concentration of squad cars was on 3rd Ave. Southeast between the Olmsted County Government Center and Mayo Civic Center.
Limited information is available, however Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen says patrol officers initiated a traffic stop shortly after 7:30 a.m.
He said the vehicle stopped along the downtown Rochester street was suspected of being stolen from an address outside of the city but in Olmsted County.
The suspect, who’s name has not been released, was taken into custody.
Members of the Rochester Police Department along with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol had cleared the scene around 8:15 a.m.
