Some much needed rain is on the way which is good for your grass but bad for anyone attending the Rochesterfest Grand Parade on Saturday afternoon.  Organizers have been watching the forecast closely and have been in contact with National Weather Service and the Rochester Police Department and say everyone's safety is the number one priority.

Late this morning the event's organizers posted an update on the parade to their Facebook page:

The Rochesterfest Parade Has Not Been Cancelled But The Start Time Has Changed:

"ROCHESTERFEST PARADE UPDATE - The parade start time has been tentatively moved up to 1:30pm. The National Weather Service predicts scattered light rain this afternoon with an increase in rain and storm conditions after 4pm."

The goal is to get the parade in before the bad weather arrives.

"Rochesterfest along with the Rochester Police Department and NWS will continue to monitor the weather conditions. While our goal is to get the parade in before the bad weather arrives, the safety of people both participating and watching the parade is our top priority. Should anything change, we will keep you updated."

Several other activities are planned for after the parade including concerts and a drone race. As of 11:00AM Saturday morning those events are still scheduled to happen as planned. Follow Rochesfest on Facebook or check rochesterfest.com for updates throughout the day.
