
Surgery Required for Police Officer Shot During Arrest in Minnesota
White Bear Lake, MN (KROC-AM News)- A police officer was shot during an arrest in the Twin Cities Tuesday night.

A news release from the White Bear Lake Police Department indicates officers attempted to arrest a subject in the area of an apartment complex near Maplewood mall around 10 p.m. Gunfire then rang out during the arrest.
Police say an officer was struck by the gunfire. The officer was brought into surgery and is now in stable condition, the news release says. The suspect was then arrested and officials said there was no longer a danger to the public.
The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota BCA were called to the scene. Officials plan to release more information if it’s warranted, the news release says.
It's the second time this week that a police officer has been shot in Minnesota. Two deputies in central Minnesota's McCleod County were hit by gunfire during a standoff in the small town of Winstead on Monday.
