Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorist was taken to the hospital after striking a house then driving down a ravine in southwest Rochester.

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers responded to the crash around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Preliminary information indicates one vehicle was involved in the crash. The driver was the only person in the vehicle.

79-Year-Old Rochester Man Injured After Striking House, Driving Down Ravine

An SUV left the roadway, struck a house then went down a ravine, the police report indicates. The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Fieldstone Road SW. 

Grayson says the driver, described as a 79-year-old Rochester man, was injured and taken from the scene by ambulance.

An update on his condition is not available. The man’s name has not been released.
