The Sea Wing Disaster In Lake City
Author and historian Fred Johnson was on Rochester's Good Morning with Rich Peterson and Kim David talking about a book he wrote detailing one of the worst inland shipping disasters of all-time.
It happened on July 13, 1890 on Lake Pepin near Lake City. 98 people died when a storm hit the area and the "Sea Wing" capsized. Mr. Johnson is updating his book with some new information as well as recently discovered photographs.
