Thieves Steal Iowa Farmer’s Field of Beans

( La Motte, IA  - Learfield News )   A  farmer in Iowa’s Jackson County says he was recently hit by rustlers.  But not cattle rustlers - instead, soybean rustlers.

Matt Schuster of La Motte says he went to check on his 18-acre field on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River last weekend  and found only bare ground.  Schuster says he lost  1600 bushels of beans, worth about $18,000.

Neighbors say they saw a combine working in that field, but just thought it was a hired hand at the wheel.
