An abnormally high number of vendors have pulled out of the 2021 Minnesota State Fair. However, because there are now some openings, the state fair has added three new vendors to this year's fair. One of them even provides gluten-free options of fair favorites.

Tons of Vendors Have Pulled Out of the Minnesota State Fair

You may have already seen the post that somewhere between 150 and 200 vendors have pulled out of this year's fair. For reference, in a typical year, the state fair will see between 50 and 75 vendors pull out of the fair for whatever reason. A couple of the vendors include WCCO Radio and Education Minnesota. FOX 9 and KARE 11 are both scaling back their involvement in the fair this year.

I can't find a full list of the vendors that have pulled out but multiple sources are saying that it's between 150 and 200 vendors who have decided to not participate. A large piece of the decision is COVID-19 concerns with the state fair not requiring masks and not requiring proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test. But some vendors are pulling out because they don't have enough staff or they're affected by supply chain issues.

New Vendors Just Added to the 2021 Minnesota State Fair

With vendors leaving, that means there are openings for others on the waiting list. The Minnesota State Fair just added three new food vendors to this year's fair! The state fair shared the news on their Instagram.

Auntie M's Gluten Free - They'll be selling gluten-free corn dogs, funnel cakes, and cheese curds.

Libby's Soft Serve Ice Cream - They'll have foods like banana split on a stick, cheesecake on a stick, and lots of soft-serve ice cream flavors.

Spinning Wylde - They'll have over 30 natural flavors of dye-free, handspun cotton candy. They're made with organic cane sugar and fresh-pressed watermelon juice.

They all sound great but I'm really interested in Spinning Wylde.
