Torgerson Announces New Appointments

Olmsted County Sheriff-elect Kevin Torgerson has announced some leadership changes within the department.

He has selected Captain Terry Waletzki to be chief deputy of the department’s law enforcement services division. That position had been vacant since the retirement of Mark Darnell earlier this year. Waletzki has been with the department since 1991 and was promoted to captain in 2007.

Torgerson has appointed Captain Brian Howard to be chief deputy of the detention services division, which include the jail operations.That position has been held by Stacy Sinner for several years. Howard has been with the department since 1994 and was promoted to captain in September 2013

The recommendations are expected to be presented to the Olmsted County Board at its first meeting in January.
