Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News) - A trial date has been set for the Mankato woman accused of causing the injuries that led to the death of her 16-month-old son at St. Mary's Hospital in February.

27-year-old Chelsea Olinger appeared in court for a hearing in Mankato Monday and was told her trial on second and third-degree murder charges would begin in the second week of November. She also faces a first-degree assault charge and a felony count of malicious punishment of a child.

Olinger was arrested in Rochester on February 13th after the child was brought to St. Mary's hospital with severe injuries. His Mayo Clinic doctors could not detect any signs of brain activity and he died several days later. The charges say an autopsy found the toddler's death was due to multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
