U of M Regents Approve Tuition Freeze For Coming School Year
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The University of Minnesota Board of the Regents today approved a tuition freeze for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students for the next school year.
The freeze of tuition was recommended by U of M President Joan Gabel and includes nearly all new and returning students throughout the U of M system. It excludes students enrolled in the Medical School, the School of Dentistry, and several professional masters degree programs at the College of Science and Engineering in the Twin Cities.
Gabel says she plans to develop an operating budget based on a scenario where the University returns to more regular operations by the start of the fall semester. That would include in-person classroom instruction. The spending blueprint could then serve as the base for developing contingency plans in case the University of Minnesota needs to continue reduced operations due to the pandemic.
