Unbelted Minnesota Man Killed in Freeway Crash
Monticello, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Fillmore County man was involved in a fatal crash in central Minnesota early Saturday morning.
The State Patrol says 60-year-old Wayne Lange of Spring Valley was driving a semi tanker truck that collided with a pickup truck on I-94 in Wright County. The fatal collision was reported just before 5:30 AM.
The preliminary report on the deadly incident indicates both vehicles were traveling west on the freeway when the crash occurred at an interchange about 5 miles northwest of Monticello. The road conditions were described as dry at the time.
The State Patrol says the pickup driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 81-year-old Dennis Wendell of North Oaks.
The Spring Valley man was not injured in the crash.
