
Update: State Patrol ID’s Victims Of Southern Minnesota 6-Vehicle Pile-Up Crash
Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News)- The State Patrol has released the of the nine people involved in a chain-reaction crash on I-35 in southern Minnesota Sunday afternoon.

The state crash report says the crash occurred about two miles south of the southernmost Faribault exit. It happened around 12:20 p.m.
Six vehicles, all traveling in the northbound lanes, were involved in the crash. It was triggered when a Chevy SUV and semi-truck collided in the northbound lanes of the freeway.
The State Patrol has disclosed identities of the crash victims, the vehicles they were driving as well as their most recent conditions following the crash:
- Semi. Driven by 54-year-old Joel Adam Sassmann of Fredericksburg, IA. He was not injured
- Chevy SUV. Driven by 52-year-old Holly Marie Pickering of Chaska. She was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her passenger, 30-year-old Kaitlyn Marie Herbert from Forest Lake, was also taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with life-threatening injuries.
- Ford SUV. Driven by 72-year-old Alicia Ward from Monmouth, IL. She was brought to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
- Honda car. Driven by a 69-year-old Jay August Muchow of Kansas City, Mo. He and his passenger, 72-year-old Susan Kay Muchow also from Kansas City suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were not transported for further care
- Volvo SUV. Driven by 58-year-old Craig Lyn Oeltjen of Glenwood. He and his passenger, 60-year-old Julie Belinda Oeltjen from Glenwood, were not injured
- Ford SUV. Driven by 30-year-old Holly Marie Domeier of Burnsville. She was not hurt.
The state report indicates all nine of the people involved in the pile-up crash were buckled up and that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The Rice County Sheriff’s Office, Faribault Fire Department and North Ambulance.
