Upset Fridley Bar Patron Opens Fire At Bouncers And Bystanders
Fridley, MN (KROC AM News) - Two people were hit by gunfire early Friday during an incident at a bar in a Twin Cities suburb.
The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says Fridley police received a 911 call around 1:15 am about “gunfire and someone being shot at Two Stooges Sports Bar and Grill.”
The sheriff’s office says officers found a man and a woman had been shot and they were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers soon learned two men got into an altercation with security staff around closing time. One left and went to a vehicle in the parking lot.
According to the sheriff’s office:
"He returned and began firing a firearm at the security staff and bystanders. An adult male bystander who had a firearm on his person returned fire. The adult male who returned fire was taken into custody and the original adult male shooter fled from the scene before law enforcement arrived.”
At last report, the man was still being sought.
Officers and other first responders from several surrounding cities responded to the incident, which remains under investigation by the Fridley Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
