Warrant Arrest Draws Police Presence & Pursuit at Rochester Gas Station, Two Arrested
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- There was a noticeable police presence at a Rochester gas station Wednesday evening.
Law enforcement swarmed the southeast Rochester convenience store around 8:10 p.m. The response resulted in a pair of arrests.
A Rochester Police Spokesperson says an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that pulled into the Casey’s in the 1300 block of Eastwood Rd. Southeast.
That officer identified a passenger in the vehicle as 30-year-old Devin Garrison of Rochester. Police say he had multiple active arrest warrants.
Garrison was accused of fleeing the scene on foot and was apprehended after a brief foot chase, police say.
Another passenger in the vehicle, identified as 32-year-old Samantha Sample of Rochester is suspected of attempting to stop the officer from chasing down Garrison. Police say Sample also kicked other officers who responded to the scene.
Garrison was booked into the Olmsted County Jail on suspicion of fleeing an officer on foot and obstruction of the legal process. Jail records indicate the apprehension order against Garrison was for failing to appear in court for a probation violation.
He’s also being held for another agency on undisclosed felony level charges, jail records say.
Sample was booked into jail on suspicion of gross misdemeanor fourth-degree assault of a peace officer and misdemeanor obstruction of the legal process.
