The most recent data shows the average American worker makes $31,128 a year. In Minnesota, the average annual income is $34,515. Rochester's average income is $35,471 which is almost $1,000 more than the state average. To make $35,471 a person would have to work 40 hours a week and earn $17.05 an hour. also has a ton of useful information on incomes. They break it down by age, race and even family size. Their report from 2016 says the median household income in Rochester was $67,712 compared to the state average of $65,599.
