Winona Area Experiences Third Fatal Train Incident This Year
GOODVIEW, Minn. (AP) — A pedestrian has been struck and killed by a train in the Winona area, the third such death in about six weeks.
Winona County sheriff's officials say a man in his late 50s was struck on the Amtrak tracks in Goodview about 8 p.m. Monday. KAGE reports that authorities say the warning lights at a nearby crossing were working at the time.
A 25-year-old Winona State University student was killed by a train Jan. 17th and a 63-year-old man was killed Feb. 19th at a crossing in the same area.
