Minneapolis, MN (MinnesotaNow)- A young woman who was injured in a Minneapolis hit-and-run has died from her injuries.

That’s according to a news release issued Monday night by the Minneapolis Police Department

Officers responded to the vehicle-pedestrian collision shortly after 3:00 Sunday morning. Police learned of the pedestrian’s death on Monday.

Woman Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Minneapolis, Police Looking for Driver

The now-fatal incident occurred in the 1600 Block Marshall St. NE. Police suspect she was hit by the vehicle sometime Saturday night, the news release says. 

Responding officers encountered the pedestrian, described in the news release as a woman in her 20’s, suffering from apparent life-threatening injuries. 

She was brought to a hospital where she died from her injuries on Monday. Her name has not been released. 

Vehicle Flees Scene After Striking Pedestrian at High Rate of Speed

The preliminary investigation indicates she was carrying a bag of food while crossing Marshall St. NE when she was struck by a vehicle that police say was “traveling at a high rate of speed.” 

The news release indicates the vehicle has not been located and that no arrest has been made as of Monday night.
