3 Taken to Hospital After Car Hits Deer on Minnesota Freeway
The State Patrol responded to the collision on I-35 about six miles north of Faribault. It happened shortly before 2 a.m.
The state crash report indicates the sedan occupied by three people was traveling in the southbound lanes when it hit the deer. The driver is identified as 25-year-old Ahmed Abdikarim Mohamed of Plymouth.
Mohamed and the two passengers, 25-year-old Tayasir O Farah Dahir of Minneapolis and 25-year-old Abdifatah Adosh Elmi of St. Paul, were brought from the crash scene to a hospital in Faribault. Their injuries are being described as non-life-threatening.
The report says everyone involved was buckled up and that alcohol was not involved in the crash. The Rice County Sheriff’s Office and Northfield Ambulance also responded to the deer-car collision.
