Albert Lea Infant Death Investigated
Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News) - Police in Albert Lea are investigating the death of an infant.
A statement says the parents of the 1-year-old girl called 911 around 7:30 this morning after they found the child unresponsive and not breathing. Officials say foul playing is not suspected and there are indications that death could be flu-related. The parents told the police the baby had received medical treatment yesterday for flu-like symptoms.
Last week, Minnesota health officials reported that there had been 4 Pediatric influenza deaths in the state since the start of the flu season.
A determination of the cause of death will have to wait for the completion of some lab tests.
