Assault at Rochester Restaurant Sends Victim to Hospital With Serious Injuries
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- An assault that occurred at a Rochester restaurant resulted in serious injuries for the victim.

That’s according to Rochester Police Department Spokesperson Amanda Grayson. Officers responded to the establishment around 1:10 Sunday morning.
The victim is described as a man. Police say he was punched in the face and fell to the ground where he is believed to have been punched several more times.
The man was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with what were described as serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The alleged after-hours attack occurred at Los Jarritos Café, which is located at 34 17th Ave. Northwest.
Grayson identified the alleged assailant as 26-year-old Xavier Abreu-Vasques of Rochester. He was arrested on suspicion of felony third-degree assault charges.
Police did not indicate if was arrested at the scene of a different location. He was booked into the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center shortly after 2:30 Sunday morning, according to jail records.
Grayson says the reported attack is part of an ongoing investigation. Abreu-Vasques is awaiting his arraignment hearing in Olmsted County Court.
