Woman Jailed After Allegedly Assaulting Rochester Police Officer
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 21-year-old Rochester woman is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in Olmsted County Court for allegedly assaulting a Rochester Police Officer.
Court documents indicate the incident occurred shortly before 10 PM on Thursday after two police officers responded to a trespassing complaint at a bar in southwest Rochester. It was reported that a woman was sleeping in the stairwell leading down to the entrance to the business.
According to the criminal complaint, the officers found the woman sleeping on the ground and instructed her to leave. It's alleged that she responded by delivering a full force kick to the leg of one of the officers and punching the same officer in the face with a closed fist.
The charges state that Rebecca Kuek was then told that she was being placed under arrest but she continued to refuse to comply with the officer's commands. She is also accused of physically resisting by struggling with the officers until they were able to take her into custody.
