She entered a guilty plea in the federal case in April. The U.S. Attorney’s Office of Minnesota says she stole over a quarter-million dollars during the years of fraud.

“This wasn’t free money. It was taxpayer money, stolen from a program built on the hard work of Minnesotans who paid in every paycheck. Cases like this are part of the broader fraud crisis gripping our state, where too many see taxpayer programs as their own personal piggy banks,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson.

She’s accused of filling out an application by filling in her mother’s information and forging her signature.

In all Redmond is accused of swindling $360,000 in Social Security funds.

A news release issued by the U.S. Attorney says Redmond has been sentenced to a year and a day in prison. She’ll be on supervised release for a year following her time behind bars.
