Bail Set at $4 Million For Mankato Kwik Trip Murder Suspect
Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News) - Bail was set at $4 million today during a court hearing for the man accused of murdering an employee of a Kwik Trip store in Mankato.
According to the criminal complaint filed against 28-year-old Michael Lee Miller, Mankato police officers responded around 3 AM Tuesday to a disturbance at the business. The caller indicated a person was inside the store breaking stuff before the 911 call was disconnected and the witness fled from the convenience store.

Once officers arrived at the scene, the court document says officers found 34-year-old Dennis Vosika unresponsive on the floor behind the counter surrounded by a large pool of blood. The officers stated that they observed apparent knife wounds on the victim's head, back, and leg.
Vosika was transported to a local emergency room, where he was pronounced dead. The criminal complaint says preliminary autopsy results noted that he had suffered 43 sharp force injuries.

The charges say investigators reviewed surveillance camera videos recorded in the store, which show Miller entering with a large knife before he went to the refrigerator section and began eating some meat. After he was requested to pay for the items, the video shows Miller walking behind the counter and confronting the victim before throwing him to the ground and stabbing him multiple times.
A statement provided by the Mankato Public Safety Department indicated Miller was recognized as a known customer of the store and was later arrested at his Mankato residence.
Following his arrest, the criminal complaint says Miller told investigators that he was hearing voices and that he "needs to destroy and burn everything down." The court document says police later located the murder weapon in a dumpster after Miller provided the location.
He has been charged with second-degree murder in Blue Earth County Court. Miller’s next court appearance is scheduled in early April.
