
Bridge Work Prompts Lane Closures Along Hwy. 52 in Rochester This Weekend
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is alerting drivers in Rochester to prepare for traffic slowdowns this weekend.

A MnDOT news release says crews will be conducting crack and joint sealing work on six bridges.
The work planned for the weekend is part of a larger effort to seal cracks and joints on 34 bridges in Olmsted and Mower Counties. The sealing work helps to prolong the useful life of the bridges, MnDOT says.

Bridge Crack and Joint Sealing Work to Prompt Lane Closures on Six Bridges Along Hwy. 52 Corridor in Rochester
Starting at 4 a.m. Saturday, crews will be doing sealing work along the Hwy. 52 corridor in Rochester.
Bridges slated to get the work done include the 19th St. NW overpass, the 2nd St. SW overpass, both Hwy. 52 bridges over the Zumbro River near Apache Mall and both Hwy. 52 bridges at the Hwy. 63/South Broadway interchange.
MnDOT says flaggers will be controlling traffic in some of the work zones. The bridges scheduled to receive the maintenance will have lane closures.
Weather conditions may impact the project’s schedule, MnDOT notes.
More Sealing Work Planned This Summer
Crews will continue grant and joint sealing work north along the Hwy. 52 corridor into Oronoco this year.

The entire sealing project is set to continue through August. MnDOT says they will announce updates to the schedule as work progresses.
