This Beloved Rochester Snack Is Popping Up in Stores Across 16 States
Carroll’s Corn has been poppin’ delicious gourmet popcorn in Rochester, Minnesota since 1993. That was the year Pat Carroll, a former swim coach, decided to dive into something new. He was torn between opening a video rental store or a popcorn shop.
Obviously, he made the right call because 32 years later, Carroll’s Corn is still going strong (and I can’t even remember the last time I saw a video rental store).

A Local Favorite Under the Mayo Clinic
If you’ve ever wandered through the downtown Rochester Subway, undneath the Mayo Clinic, you’ve probably smelled the irresistible aroma coming from Carroll’s Corn. It’s a local favorite among patients, Mayo employees, and anyone looking for a quick snack.
You can also find their popcorn at area Hy-Vee stores and the Rochester Scheels. And now, the little shop that could is about to reach a whole new audience: Carroll’s Corn just announced it’s expanding in a big way. Read their statement below.
I can personally vouch for how good it is. I got one of their tins last Christmas, and it lasted forever. The popcorn stayed fresh and crunchy right down to the last handful. My favorite flavor is Triple Mix, the perfect combo of sweet caramel, cheddar, and butter, but the company has several flavors.
Carroll's Corn Full Flavor Lineup:
- Triple Mix
- Butter Popcorn
- Cheddar Popcorn
- Caramel Corn
- Kettle Corn
- Beer Cheese
