Redwood Falls, MN (KROC AM News) - A semi-truck and four passenger vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction traffic wreck in southwest Minnesota.

The State Patrol says a total of 11 people were hurt, including one who suffered serious injuries.

The crash happened around 11:00 am Wednesday near Redwood Falls.

The State Patrol report says three vehicles were stopped for a MnDOT flagger in a construction zone. An SUV approaching the stopped vehicles began slowing when it was rear-ended by a semi-truck, causing the chain-reaction accident.

The driver of one of the vehicles was 92-years-old and she was the one who was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was identified as Mary Olson of Redwood Falls.

The SUV was driven by a 34-year-old woman from Lamberton, Minnesota. Three young children were in her vehicle. Two are 4-years-old and the third is 2-years old. All four were taken to a Redwood Falls hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The semi-truck was driven by 53-year-old Jay Klabunde of Windom, the only one involved in the wreck who wasn’t hurt.
