That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Thursday. The court filing alleges the Rochester man obtained and sent the material through Snapchat.

Rochester Police were notified of the alleged criminal activity last month. The charging document says the suspected child sexual abuse material was found within Snapchat last December.

Investigators traced the account’s phone number and IP address to the northwest Rochester residence of 34-year-old David Luke Snyder, the complaint says. Police executed a search warrant at his home on April 25.

Snyder provided a phone number and email that matched the information in the cyber tip. He claimed the material was sent to him and that he sent himself screen shots of the suspected child sexual abuse material, the charges say.

Authorities seized his electronic devices and discovered 25 images and videos of suspected child sexual abuse material on his phone, the complaint says.

The complaint describes three of the files, which were videos of three girls between the ages of six and 10 engaging in sexual acts.

Police also found four files described as child sexual abuse material on Snyder's Snapchat account and evidence he sent the videos through the social media app, the charges say.

Snyder has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and a count of disseminating child pornography.

He was arraigned on the charges in Olmsted County Court on Thursday and released without bail. Snyder is due back in court in July.
