
Rochester Police Capture Man Suspected of Firing Gunshots in Neighborhood
Police took the man into custody after a brief foot chase. They also found a handgun in the suspect vehicle
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester police captured a man suspected of committing a shooting in a Rochester neighborhood Wednesday night.

Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers responded to a report of gunshots around 9:15 p.m.
Police found shell casings upon arriving at the shooting scene.

Rochester Man Arrested for Neighborhood Shooting After Brief Foot Chase, Officers Recover Gun
The shooting occurred in the 4400 block of Manor View Dr. Northwest. Responding officers obtained a description of the suspect and vehicle he was driving.
Grayson said officers found the vehicle shortly after responding to the shooting and spotted the suspect walking nearby.
Police took the man into custody after a brief foot chase. They also found a handgun in the suspect vehicle, according to the police report.

Rochester police identified the suspected shooter as 33-year-old Jhovani Soto of Rochester.
He was arrested on suspicion of drive-by shooting, reckless discharge of a firearm, second-degree DWI and other charges.
Soto’s first court appearance has not yet been scheduled. No injuries were reported and it appears nothing was hit by the gunfire, Grayson said.
