The officer witnessed a suspected drug deal involving the suspect of the investigation and a motorist, later identified as Busch. Police followed Busch’s vehicle then initiated a traffic stop in northwest Rochester.

While speaking with officers, Busch admitted to buying methamphetamine and said there was meth in the vehicle, the court document states.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two packages of methamphetamine, one weighing 16.7 grams with packaging and the other weighing 38.9 grams with packaging, according to the complaint.

Police also found miscellaneous drug paraphernalia items in the vehicle, the complaint states.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension then tested and weighed the items. The substance seized tested positive for meth and weighed 48.5 grams without packaging, the complaint says.

Busch is charged by summons. He’s due to make his first court appearance this Summer.
