Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Minnesota man, who law enforcement suspected of being a drug trafficker, was busted with large quantities of meth and cocaine in Rochester

The criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court on Monday, says law enforcement found the suspected drugs while executing a search warrant on a vehicle shortly before 2:30 Sunday morning. 

Rochester Police stopped the vehicle for a search in the 100 block of 7th St. Northwest. The officers identified the driver as 44-year-old Donald Paul Kimber

The charges indicate law enforcement had been following the Rochester man as part of a drug trafficking investigation and believed he was buying drugs in the Twin Cities then bringing them to Rochester to sell.

He had returned from the Twin Cities on the morning of the traffic stop, the complaint says.

Rochester Man Accused of Trafficking Cocaine & Meth Purchased in Twin Cities

Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a backpack containing a package of suspected methamphetamine that weighed  452.2 grams with packaging and $2,000 cash, the charges say.

Police searched the truck and discovered a hard case containing suspected cocaine spread out in two packages that weighed a combined 40.1 grams with packaging, according to the court filing.

There was also a package containing 84.1 grams of powder that did not test positive for drugs but was suspected of being used as a substance to cut the cocaine with. Officers also found plastic baggies and a scale inside of the vehicle, the complaint says.

 Kimber was charged Monday with two counts of first-degree drug sales, a count of first-degree drug possession and a count of second-degree drug possession. 

Court records indicate Kimber posted his conditional bail of $10,000 following his first court appearance. He’s due back in court later this month.
