Deputies moved in for a traffic stop and made the bust on Wednesday. 48-year-old Shannon Marie Weisbrod is charged with one count of first-degree drug sales and one count of first-degree drug possession.

Electronic Monitoring Showed Frequent Trips to Known Drug Trafficking Destinations

The charges say deputies observed Weisbrod taking short-term trips to the Twin Cities metro multiple times per week over the course of the investigation.

She was traveling to and from locations known by law enforcement for drug trafficking, the complaint says.

Weisbrod was returning to Olmsted County from Oakdale when deputies made the traffic stop that led to the drug bust in northwestern Olmsted County.

Weisbrod claimed she was returning from a casino but could not name a casino. Authorities initiated a search of the vehicle she was traveling in after a K9 sniff alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics.

The search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 116.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a phone and two digital scales.

Court records indicate Weisbrod has a criminal record dating back to 2015 that includes eight convictions for drug-related crimes.

Weisbrod’s bail was set at $50,000 following her first court appearance Friday morning. She is due back in court next month.
