Hayfield Dump Truck Driver Cited for Striking Bridge Over Hwy. 52 with Raised Bed
52-year-old Jeffery Wayne Faulharber of Hayfield has been ticketed for excessive vehicle height.
The citation indicates a southbound dump truck driven by Faulharber had its bed raised when it struck the 85th St. NW bridge that crosses Hwy. 52.
Faulharber told law enforcement no alarm in his cab alerted him to the truck bed being raised. He had entered Hwy. 52 from the 100th St. interchange in Oronoco, the citation says.
No injuries were reported.
The overpass was closed for multiple days after the collision for a state inspection.
In the days after the collision, Minnesota Department of Transportation District 6 Director of Communications and Public Engagement Mike Dougherty said officials were evaluating data collected during the inspection to determine a recommendation for repairs that may be needed.
