
Arson Arrest Made for Minnesota Duplex Fire That Sent Man to Hospital
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News)- One man was arrested and another was brought to a hospital following a fire in southeast Minnesota.

Law enforcement suspects the blaze was caused by an act of arson. Emergency responders were dispatched to the fire shortly after 3:00 on Tuesday afternoon.
Austin Police Chief Chief McKichan said responding officers found a person in distress outside of the burning home.

Austin Police Drag Injured Man Away from Bruning Duplex in Austin, MN, Arson Suspected
The fire broke out at a duplex in the 1300 block of 10th St. Southwest in Austin. McKichan said first responders found the injured man lying next to the house.
Officers saw flames coming from a ground floor window above the area where the man was located. The officer dragged the man to safety, McKichan said.
The individual was then taken to a hospital by ambulance for further care. His name and an update on his condition have not been released.
The Austin Fire Department led the effort to extinguish the fire, according to McKichan.
Resident Suspected of Starting Austin, MN Duplex Fire Arrested
McKichan says a resident of the duplex, identified as 32-year-old Gelisha Rivers, was taken into custody in relation to the fire. .
Charges against River man are pending review by the Mower County Attorney’s Office.
A damage estimate to the duplex is not available as of Wednesday morning. McKichan says the fire is under investigation.
