One last time with Olmsted County Parks Director Tom Ryan today on Rochester’s Good Morning.  He has retired from his post which means he’ll no longer be a regular guest on every other Thursday like he has been for the past 16 years on the program.

No one has a better appreciation of the outdoors and nature than Tom and his ability to pass his knowledge out in an enjoyable and down-to-earth (pun intended) way is unmatched as well.  We will miss his visits, but he still may pop up on occasion on the program.

We talked about snow in Walker, MN, when are the hummingbirds going to show up (give them a week or two) and the new "trail" created by the DNR from Eastwood Park to Chester Woods.  He agreed it's not real functional, but paved trails are expensive he said, much more than what the DNR had to work with.

Best of luck to Tom and to whomever is chosen as his successor, you have some big shoes to fill.  Literally, his feet are really big!
