The Rochester City Council met Monday night and one of the items on the agenda was whether or not to proceed with a second phase study on municipal owned internet or broadband.

The council voted no on the study for a variety of reasons one of which was the projected cost of implementing broadband, $65-million dollars plus.  On Rochester's Good Morning Tuesday during Council President Randy Staver's visit it was mentioned that there just doesn't seem to be a an outcry of support for it..

It was also pointed out that the technology is changing so much so rapidly that it would be difficult for a government run entity to keep up.
