Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The ongoing investigation into the $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud scheme has resulted in charges against another Minnesota woman.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota says 57-year-old Dorothy Jean Moore is the 72nd person charged in the case. The Apple Valley woman is facing three counts of wire fraud and two counts of money laundering.

According to court documents, Moore launched two Federal Child Nutrition Program sites under the sponsorship of Feeding Our Future in late 2020. Federal prosecutors say she claimed the sites served approximately 1,500 meals to children each day.

The charges allege that she fraudulently claimed and received reimbursements for the meals through the federal nutrition program. She is also accused of submitting fraudulent claims for reimbursement for food provided through a catering company she owned.

A news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota says bank records show Moore used little of the reimbursement money from the federal nutrition program to purchase food. It is alleged that she used the funds to buy cars and pay for “an enhanced lifestyle.”
