St Paul (KROC AM News) - A small county in northeast Minnesota now has the distinction of being the only one in the state that has not yet reported a COVID-19 death.
According to the daily Covid activity report from the Minnesota Dept. of Health, Fillmore County in southeast Minnesota reported its first Covid death Tuesday, a person in their 80s.
That made it 86 out of the state’s 87 counties and leaves just Cook County as the only one that hasn’t record a Covid death.
The small North Shore county has only reported 104 positive Covid cases since the pandemic began in March. That’s the lowest number of all the state’s counties.
Cook County has a population of around 5500.
