
4-Vehicle Chain Reaction Crash Leads to Injuries at Winona Roundabout
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- A four-vehicle crash sent two people to the hospital at a southeast Minnesota intersection.

It happened at a roundabout in Winona. The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly after 4:00 Wednesday afternoon.
The drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles. The crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 43 and Hwy. 61.

Four-Vehicle Crash at Winona Roundabout Intersection Results in Two Injuries
A car, Jeep, minivan and van were all traveling in the northbound lanes of Hwy. 61 when one of the vehicles left the roadway, causing a chain reaction that led to the three other vehicles colliding, the state crash report indicates.
63-year-old Wendy Ann Bublitz of Winona was identified as the Jeep driver and 40-year-old Caleb John Scharpf was driving the car, the state crash report says.
Bublitz and Scharpf were both taken to the hospital in Winona with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
The two people driving the vans, identified as 29-year-old Ian Thomas Schultz of Winona and 45-year-old Daniel Joseph Hesch of Winona, were not hurt in the four-vehicle collision, the State Patrol says.
All four of the drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the state crash report.
The Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Winona Police Department, Winona Fire Department and Winona Area Ambulance also responded to the crash.
