The criminal complaint accuses him of bringing one of the alleged shooters to the scene then acting as the getaway driver. Charges previously filed in the case say Rochester Police found at least 12 shell casings at the scene.
One of the shooting suspects, previously identified as 24-year-old Michael King of Rochester, was arrested during a traffic stop that followed the shooting.
The shooting happened on May, 19 2023 at the Ashland Apartments in the 1950 block of Ashland Dr. Northwest.
The newest criminal complaint in the case, filed in Olmsted County Court on Wednesday, says the third man charged in the case was the driver of the vehicle stopped by police after the shooting near the intersection of 19th St. and Valley High Dr. Northwest.
During the traffic stop the occupants advised officers there were two firearms in the vehicle. The guns were seized by law enforcement.
He’s been identified as 21-year-old Ethan Raymond Callier of Rochester. The complaint says Callier picked up three other passengers to go to the Ashland Apartment to retrieve house and car keys from his sister’s fiance.
One of the passengers told police during the traffic stop that Callier asked him to come with him to the apartment because he thought the situation would be hostile.
Another man riding in the vehicle said he brought a gun with him to the apartment but did not fire it.
A third passenger said one of the vehicle’s occupants got out then returned to the vehicle immediately after the shooting, the court filing says. Callier then drove away from the apartment.
Callier has been charged with a count of felony second-degree riot. He’s been ordered to make his first appearance in Olmsted County Court next month.
King and the other defendant in the case, identified as 28-year-old Joshua Eugne Adams of Rochester, were charged in the shooting in May.
Adams is awaiting sentencing after settling his case through a plea agreement in January. The case against King is on track to go to a trial.
No injuries were reported in the shooting.
