A really cool and unique event is back in Mantorville this summer for it's 7th year in a row. It's a huge outdoor art exhibit called Larger Than Life featuring giant, blown-up versions of artists work on display in Riverside Park.

Outdoor Art Display in Mantorville, MN

The event was put together in 2020 by Brian and Mary Jo Hindal. With all events getting canceled due to COVID, they wanted to put together something unique for people to come see.

So they took some of their photographs they had taken, plus photographs from two other artists, and blew them up onto giant 4-foot-by-8-foot weatherproof panels and put them out on display at Riverside Park. People were able to drive by or walk through the park and enjoy while still staying safe.

The event was a huge success and people wanted to know if it was going to come back the following year. So it did! And now we're onto year 6, their largest year yet.

Greater Minnesota's Largest Outdoor Art Exhibit

The exhibit has now expanded to more than just photography, also featuring paintings, drawings, and sculptures, too.

With 37 artists being featured this year, it will make Larger Than Life the largest outdoor art exhibit in greater Minnesota.

This year's exhibit will have more than 50 pieces on display. At the opening day, there will be live music, food trucks, and vendors, too. After opening weekend, the art will remain on display all summer until the beginning of September. You can visit anytime from dawn to dusk. Oh, and it's free! (But there is a place to donate if you'd like.)

After the exhibit is done, the pieces will be put on display around Mantorville and elsewhere in Dodge County for the year.

Larger Than Life's opening day will be Saturday, June 27th, 10 AM - 2 PM, with the unveiling of the artwork starting at 11 AM and live music starting at noon.
